About the author: Ninjarantguy previously worked as a GM for a global MMO and is now trying his hand in writing while handling his own business.
I always thought that NeoSteam Online is one of those F2P MMOs that had a lot of potential to be a hit game.
Though there may not be anything revolutionary in the game, the game has redeems itself as a MMO that is cute, cuddly but kicks major ass in gameplay and content.
NeoSteam Gold - Lord Bark Tarp's Minions
However, like most of the F2Ps out there right now, the game is bogged down by poor management. The company that previously held the game seemed not to care about the game as it should.
The GMs are lacking and it seems that the GMs that are online are swamped not only in-game but also of people asking this or that that the website should've explained but NeoSteam Online Gold did it horribly.
I was one of those people who tried to at least give life to a dying MMO by being active and trying to help out with the questions and whatnot new players are throwing when they do come.
In the end, the lack of care those in the management team (not the GM team because the then NeoSteam Gold GM team are decent GMs they are just swamped with tons of work and paper work that seem to pile up because they lack manpower) finally made me stop playing and go elsewhere (WoW, WAR and DDO).
Months passed by and then I landed the writing thing here at MMOsite when I was surprised to see that Neosteam gold is going beta.
I double-checked if my eyes were deceiving me but heck they're not. It seems that Atlus finally took the reins of NeoSteam Gold .
A friend of mine who tried out Atlus' Neosteam gold and was part of my old guild in the old Neosteam gold told me that things are better this time around.
While there are still text problems in this newly operated NeoSteam Gold, it seems that Atlus is doing its job decently.
Of course things are just starting off so it may eventually go downhill as the game progresses its operations so I don't really want to hold my breath too much on the game.
The one thing is sure though, Neosteam is better run this time around and hopefully it wouldn't die a sad death as its predecessor.
